Welcome to my site. I trust my incessant, pissy Blog has kept you amused. I do try.

The title ‘The Non-Poet’ is one I’ve been writing under for years. Sharing a name with a Poet Laureate is both a blessing and a terrible pain in the ass for one who is trying to establish themselves as a writer.

What do I write you ask? (Regardless of whether you did or not; I’m going to tell you anyway.)

Well, I’m a writer of plays, for both stage and radio. I’m toying with a couple of scripts which are intended for the screen – but I’m a little apprehensive about jumping into that niche market just yet. People tend to laugh when you inform them that you want to be a screenwriter. It tickles them, apparently.

I’m generally a creative writer, but I’ve worked for almost two years now with WritingEngine, where I’m an SEO provider, Copy writer and Content writer for a number of small and large online businesses. I’m well versed in the twitterverse and have in the past, taken to remotely managing such social media accounts for the aforementioned businesses. A terrible bore to be frank; but I’m efficient, generally quite good at it and the money is reasonably good. It’s a means to an end, I guess.

I’m very much a ‘networking’ junkie – so feel free to comment, get in touch, be playful – even go as far as to be slightly abusive if you like. I’m a firm believe in the old parable, Sticks and Stones.
